Philadelphia Navy Yard Student, True Penn Stater
I did not decide to return to grad school because I “needed” a master's degree. As a Penn State undergrad (EE '78), I always knew I wanted to return to the Penn State family for a graduate degree.
After moving away from hard engineering into project management, I searched for easily accessible programs in the science of leading engineering projects. When the Great Valley campus offered their Systems Engineering course work at The Philadelphia Navy Yard, I found just what I was looking for. When I coupled that with Penn State's great faculty, choosing Penn State Great Valley was a “no brainer.”
In the short time that I've been enrolled, I've already seen an improvement in my time management skills, analytical problem solving, and project prioritization. Most importantly I have a clearer vision of team work and group dynamics.
Yes, a demanding graduate program is a big commitment, but the faculty and staff have been very understanding and have accommodated our work/life/academic balance in a professional and sensitive manner. They've been absolutely great!
