International Students, please note:
The Penn State School of Graduate Professional Studies welcomes the richness international students bring to the University, campuses, and the community. Penn State University has 24 campus locations throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Each campus offers a unique educational experience.
The Penn State School of Graduate Professional Studies is a special mission campus primarily dedicated to working adults who pursue their master’s degree programs in the evening on a part time basis. Some courses are also available on Saturdays. The School is located in a corporate park with limited access to public transportation. A shuttle bus service connecting the campus to regional rail service along Philadelphia’s main line is planned to begin in fall 2009.
While the Penn State School of Graduate Professional Studies welcomes international students, it is important to note that the School offers only very limited financial assistance to students. International students must be able to assume all responsibility for student expenses. As a general rule, international students in the US on an F1 visa are not permitted to work off campus for the first academic year.
The Penn State School of Graduate Professional Studies is a commuter school, which means housing is not available through the School. International students must make their own arrangements for housing. There are a variety of Web sites available to help students find housing in the area that may be supplied upon request.
In order to qualify for full time status, international students must complete at least 9 credits per semester as a graduate student. The course work will be offered mostly in night time courses.
