MBA with an option in Business Administration


The MBA with an option in Business Administration emphasizes the traditional management areas of accounting, finance, marketing, and economics, and their roles in developing and executing business strategies. It enhances understanding of today's global economy and competitive forces.

Courses are offered in 7-week sessions. Classes meet two evenings a week in a face-to-face format.  A blended format with an online component is also available during the week or on Saturdays, giving you added convenience and flexibility.  Classes are located conveniently on our Malvern campus near Philadelphia. There are six 7-week sessions each academic year. You may begin at the start of any session.  You can expect to complete your degree in 2-3 years going part-time, or 12-18 months if going full-time.

A rich offering of electives provides depth and breadth in a variety of areas.  An extensive list of electives is available for students to build their own program to meet their career needs.

Students may declare an MBA Concentration in one of the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Human Resources Management
  • Sustainability Management
  • Health Sector Management

Admission requirements

Applicants should

  • Have a bachelor's degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or a postsecondary degree that is equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree earned from an officially recognized degree-granting international institution.
  • Have a working knowledge of statistics and accounting.
  • Submit all necessary forms, documentation, and fees.
  • Have at least 3 years of professional work experience.

Degree requirements

Students should meet preprogram requirements in quantitative and communication skills via previous course work or take up to 6 credits of pre-program requirements.  The MBA with an option in  Business Administration requires up to 45 credits. Students may be exempt from up to 15 credits from the MBA core courses through previous academic preparation. 

  • 18 credits of Core Courses
  • 15 credits of Advanced Courses
  • 9 credits of Elective Courses
  • 3 credits of a Capstone Course (MGMT 571)

Management Faculty 

The Management faculty represents a mix of academic scholars and business professionals. The full-time professors all hold doctoral degrees and have professional experience in corporations, nonprofits, or as entrepreneurs. Adjunct professors from corporate and entrepreneurial ventures supplement fundamental management theories with current marketplace experience.


The MBA with an option in Business Administration attracts students from both corporate and nonprofit sectors as well as physicians, attorneys, and professionals in health management, human services, and scientific fields.
