Folding it Together: Art and Engineering-based Active Origami

A team of Penn State faculty and staff from engineering and visual arts is developing origami structures that fold on demand to achieve large shape transformations. This presentation will include clips from the award-winning film Between the Folds film, a description of how the team of engineers and artists came together, a discussion of how this work applies to engineering problems and art, and a hands-on origami activity for the audience.
