Nothing is better than cooking with fresh herbs but too often we waste what we buy from the supermarket. Master Gardener Holly Thorpe will discuss the history of some of your favorite herbs, and how to grow and preserve your own herbs at home. She will help you think outside the box when using your garden fresh herbs both in the kitchen and the home.
Holly Thorpe is a 1987 graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a BA degree in Telecommunications. After graduating, Holly worked for IBM Credit Corporation for over 10 years. She has spent the past 14 years raising her children and developing a love of gardening particularly growing vegetables and herbs. She became a Penn State Master Gardener in 2007 and now loves to share her ideas for growing and cooking with herbs. She is also passionate about insects and can tell you how to attract beneficial insects to your garden.
