Education - Part-time Instructors
The Education Division at Penn State Great Valley seeks part-time instructors in Language and Literacy Education. Applicants are needed in the following areas of expertise: Language and Literacy assessment in K-12 contexts, Language and Literacy methods and foundations, children’s literature, experience in designing and implementing capstone and practicum experiences for PA Reading Specialist Certification. Requirements: Doctoral degree in Language and Literacy, Reading, or related field. Applicants must have current knowledge and experience in Language and Literacy best practices. Applicants should have strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to guide graduate student research focusing on Language and Literacy topics. A minimum of three years teaching experience in K-12 contexts is preferred. Knowledge of Pennsylvania Reading Specialist Certification process and requirements preferred. Assistant Professor of Information Science
The Engineering Division at the Penn State School of Graduate Professional Studies is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track appointment in the area of data analytics. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Information Science or a closely related field and a demonstrated record of research accomplishments in business-facing information technology. This position will support our thrust into predictive analytics so applicants should have the ability to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: data-driven strategic decision-making; IT project management; IT strategy; data integrity and management; ethics and values in socio-technical systems. Prior teaching experience (preferably at the graduate level) is desirable. Relevant experience in government or industry is highly valued. The position will be available starting fall 2013. Assistant Professor, Systems Engineering
The Engineering Division at the Penn State School of Graduate Professional Studies is seeking qualified applicants for two tenure-track appointments: 1) Software Engineering. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in software engineering, computer science or a closely related field, a demonstrated record of research accomplishments in the field of software engineering and the ability to teach existing software engineering courses, including requirements engineering, software design and architecture, and software testing. Candidates with research interests in requirements analysis, architectural design, and construction of highly dependable big data systems especially those developed on mobile, multi-core and cloud computing platforms are preferred. 2) Systems Engineering. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in systems engineering or a closely related field, a demonstrated record of research accomplishments in the field of systems engineering and the ability to teach existing systems engineering courses, including requirements engineering, systems design and architecture, and verification and validation. Candidates with research interests in model-based systems engineering or complex systems theory and analysis are preferred. Prior teaching experience (preferably at the graduate level) for both positions is desirable. Experience in government or industry is highly valued. Engineering and Information Science Division - Part-time Instructors
Teach graduate courses. Doctorate in discipline, prior graduate level teaching experience required. Teaching assignments may include online, late afternoon and evening at the campus in Malvern, Chester County or at The Philadelphia Navy Yard.
